But there's a problem with Bluetooth headsets that people don't talk about much: a lot of us just don't like to wear them. If you're getting in and out of a car a lot during a day, putting on and taking off the Bluetooth headset is a hassle. And while you can leave it on all the time, let's face it: it's a bit dorky, and often uncomfortable. So even in places where it's illegal, I still see lots of people driving around holding their handsets to their ears while driving. This is a terrible idea, of course. But if you forget to put in your handset, your only choices are ignoring the call (which is the better choice) or fumbling around to answer it -- and thus paying far less attention to driving than you should.

Hands-Free Without Headsets

Even if it wasn't already a law in many places and become one in more, we all know you should not hold a phone in your hand and drive. That's part of the reason why we've seen a lot more interest in Bluetooth headsets lately.

So what's the solution?: a Bluetooth speakerphone. I've been trying a BlueAnt Supertooth 3 one for a few weeks now, and am completely convinced that hands-free speakerphones are the right idea.
